Dont you (the applicant) have to sign the application? If she completes the application on sunday...you should go and sign it(only if you are in same city)...

I received an email today from USCIS requesting additional information on my case. My wife received identical email like I did.
Please let me know
1. How many days does it take for USCIS to send the letter.
2. How many days does it take for USCIS to look into my case again once I send the evidence requested.
Did anyone receive similar evidence requests. What evidence do they possibly need in this phase....

On May 16, 2011, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
A request for evidence is made when an application/petition is lacking required documentation/evidence (initial evidence) or the officer needs more documentation/evidence (additional evidence) to determine an applicant's eligibility for the benefit sought. A couple of months was less on the card (my current one is expiring from 08/29/08 and the new one was approved from 07/11/2008) ........I am happy

The fees quoted in this posting are incorrect, please double check the amount on each form as you download. I have just filed and I 485 is $325 + fingerprinting fee, I 765 is $180. Be sure to get your checks right when you have waited so long you do not want to give the USCIS reason to send your application back for the sake of a few dollars missing from the fee.

I filed on March 26th in TSC (paper filing). Got receipt dated April 7th. Still waiting. I cannot continue the job as my H1B expired. Anybody knows what should I do to get it expedited. I guess people at USCIS are very unpredictable and work according to the mood. I did not anticipate this as earlier I filed EAD for my wife and son and I got it in three weeks.
There is a fax number you can send a letter to expedite your EAD case. You need to mention that you are not able to work and will face extreme financial hardship if you do not recieve your EAD in time. we had sent a fax for our renewal last time and it worked.

PD cutoff date moved by 9 months. this is great news for PERM applications with PDs in late 2005. this also tells us that the state dept will move cutoff dates significantly in the last few months of the year so visas will not go to waste.

I just don't understand why people who suffer so much from the whole waiting would not contribute. If one day, IV core members decide to close this organization and go on with their lives, I would like to know how those people who have not contributed feel.
The economic theory, "inferior purge the good" works here. Without sufficient "good" individual, we will eventually be out of this game! So to those who have not contributed yet, do you want to see the disorganization of IV? Do you want to become a group for which no one would speak up for you? Do you want to wait desperately and endlessly for your GCs? Do you want to continue to work like a slave and feel worried about travelling outside US?... If not, please contribute!!!

ok so essentially this drastic forward movement of dates means that people who have really old PD's will get screwed as the dates will beocome unvailable for a few months and then like 2005 the dates will go back to 1999 and then take another 6 months or 1 year to come back to 2001-2002 timeframe.
As much as I want everyone to have the benefit of EAD/AP with this date movement, this date movement is going to create serious trouble for those who got stuck in BEC's. Either they won't have the opportunity to apply 485 because they are still stuck or if they managed to file 485 after years of agony they will be stuck in 140/485 queues. Ahhh the wonderful pain of US green card. Sometimes it makes you wonder how much worth it really is :(

Is it legal to work without h1-I-94 Card?
Do i need to travel out side of country ?
Read the approval letter. It states that you would need to travel outside the US and apply for H1 visa at US Consulate abroad. If your visa is granted then you can re-enter US with new I-94 card. Stay inside US without a valid I-94 is considered Out-Of-Status.

I got my original passport renewed at Houston. Here are my details.
Original Passport expiring on Feb 05/2011. Sent the completed application form with all the required documentation to Houston on June 17th. Received new passport on Jul 07/2010.
Prompt service in less than 3 weeks. Last week I emailed them requesting the status of my application and never got a reply. Tried to reach them on the phone, but no one answered. Was getting little concerned as I have an upcoming trip by end of this month. Got the fedex this afternoon. Very good service.
