a lot of companies are already getting their patent filing work done by attorneys and paralegals abroad. Wont be too long before your I-485 filing is also prepared from outside the US :)
My question is what will the attorneys and para legals do in the US, if they don't find sufficient cases to sustain their operation? What they studied here is not portable for other countries like software.

Mass deportations will NEVER happen. Its too damn expensive and a lot of moral issues come into the equation.
I agree that border security should be the first step before any sort of legislative relief is discussed for Illegal Immigration. There were 3.5 million illegal aliens in 1986 when amnesty was passed. Today the number is 12 million+.

What exactly do they mean by electronic re-validation? Aren't all FPs stored electronically anyway? And they validate it everytime you re-enter the country or apply for EAD....
No sure what they meant by that. I wrote what I was told by the Infopass officer. I didn't counter-argue with him.. no point in that..

My experience with CGI houston was after waiting on call for 1 hr in queue with counting down my position in queue, IVR informed me that "No one is available to answer my call press 0 for operator" , this goes in loop. I never was able to speak to a person any time during my passport was with CGI houston.
My advise if you are dealing with CGI houston is Send your passport and forget about month or so you will receive renewal after month.

As MurthyBulletin and MurthyDotCom readers may be aware, April 30, 2001 was the deadline to file for INA Section 245(i) eligibility under the Legal Immigration and Family Equity Act (LIFE Act) of December 2000. This provision allows individuals who are out-of-status or who entered the U.S. without being inspected at a designated INS port of entry to adjust to permanent residence, if they are otherwise qualified. In order to benefit from this provision, the individual must be the beneficiary of a labor certification or a family petition filed on or before April 30, 2001. For this reason, extraordinary numbers of cases were filed nationwide on or slightly before April 30, 2001. According to the information released by the Maryland DLLR and other states, local DOL offices did not receive additional funding in connection with the LIFE Act filings.
With respect to case processing, the DLLR reports that they are processing RIR cases received April 5, 2001 and non-RIR cases received March 8, 2001. Of course, these processing dates will be further affected by the glut of cases filed on or immediately before the LIFE Act deadline.
These time frames are similar to those experienced in most other states that are attempting to catch up on the huge volume of cases filed on or before April 30, 2001. We will share information with our MurthyBulletin and MurthyDotCom readers as and when released by other state labor agencies.

Today i got h-4 change of status approval notice for my wife from USCIS .
Her application for H-4 was done with my H-1 Petition.
Does that mean my H-1B has been approved too and i should be receiving that approval notice soon.
Also, What another document one receive with change of status. Do we receive new I-94 card too!!! if yes , we haven't received it , what does that mean?

i don't get it you are saying that members don't have to search...and yet someone has to keep it up on the home page...which is it? yes a sticky thread would have saved work and not required someone to keep it up. Why wasn't it done in the first place. When a service is supposed to be offered every week...it should be offered every week...or else there should be an announcement that is will not be offered this particular week and that it will continue next on said week.

No reason to be frustrated when people are asking simple questions...another idea would be to put the answers to the most frequently asked questions on the FAQ page...which does not work right now....so that you don't have to repeat the answers.
Its an easy solution i think.
Any member who is willing to spend a few hours on a regular basis, please help us with a FAQ about the site. Some of the answers are already in the forums, you just have to put them under one umbrella. Please let me know who wants to work on this project - individual or group effort.

I happened to surf upon the NumbersUSA website and the general outlay of the website clearly establishes their objectives and motto. Although IV is fighting for a niche stage in the legal immigration process, a stage which almost all non-immigrants have to pass through, it is my perspective that this is never clearly communicated. The NumbersUSA website is visually more informative.
Most probably, NumbersUSA has a much larger pool of money. Some persons believe in their cause by making contributions. They may have full-time employees and/or professional support.
Most persons stuck in EB retrogression want service at NO COST. Most others want service at negligible cost.
IV appears to be having a hard time getting contributions even they beg for it.

I have paid SSN for many years now even I have received a letter about 3 months back stating I am eligible for cetain Social Security benefits .. and how many points I have accumulated so far.
Every month I pay this amount towards SSN. After paying SSN for many years, I still stand no privillege of early Green card, I am still stuck in Green card process.
I am sure there will be many people like me.

Took about 3 weeks. I submitted everything by courier to Houston CGI. I did not get any message saying that they had recieved the passport or that they had started; after 3 weeks the return courier just magically had my new passport.

Wow!!! I wish I could have attended this mesmarizing rally experience. Now can you guys come up with more data on who (Rally member) met who (Law makers / Media Persons ) and how those meetings were and what opinions you heard at least verbally. If we are claiming to be best and the brightest having high skills and inventing then it is EB1 and EB2 mostly. By law EB3 is mostly for people who have Bachelor degree and hardly any experience in their field to claim as EB2. It does not matter you are masters from Harvard but by law, if your job requires just a bachelor degree then you are doing basic work at lower management. Legally EB3 have no case if they claim to be best and the brightest inventors. All doctors get EB2 or EB1. All managers with advanced degrees get EB2. All Scientists and PhD holders get EB1 and EB2. So EB3 is mostly people who are low skilled programmers, people in professions doing lower line work or people who despite having higher degrees are doing jobs that do not need advanced skills to be the brightest folks immigrating in USA. There are some exceptions of people who are screwed by their lawyers and employers by forcing them in EB3. These people should fight with their lawyers and employers or change their jobs to EB2. EB3 do not have a strong legal case to fight for EB3 if they claim to be best and the brightest. It is very humiliating but you like it or not EB3 is grouped with EB3 Other Workers that are waiters, janitors, construction workers, Farm workers etc.
So if we PORT for EB2 then we also become best and brightest?
BTW brightest are only EB1s (since you have EB2s doesn't mean EB2s are brightest)
