Stop with the FUD already. Businesses operating in the EU cannot do this. Just because corporations in the USA can, doesn't mean the rest of the world is the same...
So..Seriously why do you care then. Not one single publisher cares at all about the 30% that is a pretty standard affiliate cut in for news publishers and exactly what WSJ pays on it's lowest tier, it goes up from there for high volume affiliates.
Do you have any proof that FT actually does sell email addresses?
Just because businesses wants your email doesn't equate to they'll sell your details...
Other then the guy saying it hurts their business model not to have all my personal info no.
How hard is it to uncheck these two boxes?
http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/6509/onek.png
And other publications, like The Economist, already come with the equivalent boxes unchecked by default.
The Economist is ok with selling in subscriptions..
Apple needs to learn to work with publishers.
I spend about a third of my daily iPad time reading the FT every morning. If the app gets pulled or no longer works (because Apple insists on getting their cut of my annual subscription), I will make the very easy decision to get an Android tablet next.
Same goes for my Economist and WSJ apps. Combined, I probably spend 75% of my time on my iPad reading these publications. Take them away, and I'm gone.
My loyalty is to the publisher and the quality of their material. It is NOT to Apple. And one less iPad owner also means one less App store and/or iTunes customer.
Apple should tread very lightly here.
Maybe you should tell publishers you are ok with them not requiring your personal information..

Oh, if only I had this wallpaper back when I went through my phase where everything had to be green...
Anyway, my wallpapers:
OS X (http://bloodstar.exaltedlegion.com/what/desktopg5-20100410.jpg) - still using a G5... / Windows 7 (http://bloodstar.exaltedlegion.com/what/desktoplaptop-20110411.png) - frequently irritates me to the point where I want to use Arch and XP on this thing.

Yes, men should stop. And to prevent sexual assault women should dress in a classy way. I hope you're getting my point.I get a point, but I don't think it's the point you think you are making.

For feature films? I call BS! Maybe for independent "features" and even that is debatable.
Just one example but Transformers 2 was cut on FCP, and that's a 250mil movie, hardly an independent one :)

On December 12, 2012, this system is going to become self aware and kill us all. It's true, I read it on the internet.
You fail, it's 12/21/12 not 12/12/12

Hi everyone. I have the 2011 15" MBP and need help to get my printer working. First, let me tell you what I have so far.
The MBP 15" 2011 has all the softwares updated. I installed Windows 7 via Boot Camp, then installed Parallels. So far so good. Next, I installed Quickbooks and Office both for Windows. BTW, it is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
After setting up, I was glad to be able to use the MBP and run Quickbooks and Office programs side by side under Mac OS. Next, I tried to connect the old Epson LX-300 printer. This is where my problem started and remains unresolved.
I still could not get the Epson printer to be installed properly on the Mac OS, so I downloaded the Epson printer driver v2.6, I think. It is a huge file at something like 800+ mb if I remember correctly. After installing this file, I finally managed to install the printer by following the instructions from an Epson support site. At this point, I have not test printed.
Next, I ran Quickbooks under Mac OS, but when I wanted to print, I could not find the Epson LX-300.
I really needed to print invoices, so I shutdown the computer, rebooted using Windows 7. Supposed to be, when I connect the printer, Windows should be able identify and install the necessary driver. Unfortunately, this did not work.
What happens is that when I plug in the printer via USB, on the control panel of Windows 7, it will show USB printer. That's it. When I try to print, I cannot find the Epson printer... Even USB Printer is not available.
HELP! I need to be able to print. I don't care if this is only possible by booting into Windows 7 OS... Which at this point, doesn't even work.
If anyone could show me how to set this thing properly, at least make the printer work on Wndows 7, or better, make it work even if I am on Mac OS running Windows programs.
THANKS!

I figured it would be interesting to see what everyone is into reading lately. And your eBook collection in general might be interesting. Feel free to jump in and share!

Awesome sauce bodacious curves :D
My dad is into muscle cars and he offered to give me one of these when i was 15 and i said no. I wasnt into muscle cars at the time. It did need a lot of work. I would love to go back and accept that offer. It kills me inside to know i could have had that but let it slip away. He sold it a while back.

Saw one of these parked up down my road earlier, in my opinion it's the best car on the market today. Amazing looking, so comfortable, and very very fast when they need to be.

The iPod touch probably has iOS 4.1, which can be jailbroken using limera1n. If you'd like to update to iOS 4.2, you can, but your jailbreak will be tethered.

and if the girl isn't 18 yet, then it is rape
Not necessarily -- age of consent is often below 18; for example, it's 17 in Nebraska, so an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old getting it on is not statutory rape.
I am not a lawyer; this is not legal advice. No priveleged relationship exists between us.

It's for when you install Boot Camp. ;)
Anyway, as much as I'd love to see a truly "smart" phone, I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if Apple's able to do so with their first release.
Since it is the microsized version it will be called Bootie camp!
