iOS World Frustration Index suddenly dropped to bottom. Numbers finally start to matter again. Once they add Macs, Mac Pros, Mac Minis, refurb resales etc. to the list (when they run iOS) - it will be time to declare victory :D

For some reason when I save in Illustrator cs5 to my Flash drive it gives me an error saying there was an I/0 Problem and the disk was ejected. I have tried this on a few computers. There is no problem with the flash drive because I use it with other files no problem. Has anyone eles ran into this problem?

I am in no way sticking up for Android. I think its fragmentation is worse than what exists on iOS. I was just pointing out that iOS is also fragmented, in its own way. To be honest, iPads can run every app available in the App Store, but an iPhone/iPod Touch can't (the gotcha that iPad Only apps won't run on the other devices).

I got an email from Apple tonight telling this was the last reminder they were going to give me to update my calendar on the MobileMe systems to the new version otherwise I'd lose the ability to sync it and wouldn't be able to view it online, either. Which sounds like they're going to delete it for all intents and purposes. :rolleyes:
I bet the only reason it's required I click something to perform this update is because it entails agreeing to a new EULA with some nefarious new terms or requires I start using the newest version of iCal to sync with the online calendar (which, coincidentally, isn't available for the version of OSX I have, which coincidentally requires me to buy a new Mac to run). :rolleyes:
I'm in the same 'no iCal sync unless new Mac' boat as SeaFox. I can't even upgrade my iPhone or wife's iPod touch without a new computer. I know tech marches
on, but it still sucks. Come on new Mini!

Why the heck _wouldn't_ you count those? You can use apps across all the devices, which is where the power of the Apple ecosystem comes into play. Once the Apple TV can support apps, that will be counted too. Whether or not you can make a phone call on the device is absolutely 100% irrelevant. The ONLY thing that matters in these kind of numbers is whether or not you can run an application on it. That's where the benefit of market reach comes into play. More devices sold = more developers = more benefit to customers = more devices sold = more developers ... etc. It's a great little self-sustaining model.

Japanese charaters works in Terminal.app while AppleLocale is set to en_US, en_GB or ja_JP.
But if I do:
defaults write -globalDomain AppleLocale sv_SE
and Log out and Log in. Then Terminal.app will display whitespaces instead of the charaters, both if I cat a file or open it in vim.
To reproduce, in Terminal.app:

Vim displays the correct UTF-8 hex values while the cursor is under a japanese character and pressing "g8", but Terminal.app will not display the character.

No, but I think the word 'me' does have negative connotations such as narcissism and self centeredness. That is my beef with it. The last word I want someone to associate with my name is 'me'.
I agree. I wish I could have kept hold of my old mac.com address but alas I was getting so much spam and crap I terminated my account and set up a new one. Have my own domain with webmail and mail forwarding so I don't have to use me.com professionally.

I have a refurbished iPhone 4, 32 GB, I bought from at&t. It is in great shape, and was likely a return with in the 30 day window. I found out that if you buy a refurbished phone from Apple, the warranty resets to when you buy it, but if you buy it from at&t is is based of the original date of sale.
