The core team is looking for some volunteers to help us with a few tasks
What is expected of volunteers
1) Loads of motivation
2) 15 mins of time per day
3) Ability to call someone and send emails on behalf of IV
4) Strong belief in what we are doing and what we are trying to achieve
I know some of you have contacted me or some other admin in the past offering to be volunteers but unfortunately we were really busy and may not have been able to get back to you.

Thanks So Much Ann, That gives me direction and what to request my employer when I talk to them later this afternoon.
I have one more question? When I spoke with USCIS and opened the inquiry in dec 2010. why did they come up with " RFE resposne not received till todate?" Do you think thye just checked the online status and responded back. My lawyer says that they spoke with someone at Texas service center and they told them that they have received the response. Will I be breaking any laws if I just do voluntary marketing and promotional work for my company in India.
Here is the situation :
My clients will be in USA and they will be paying my company in India. I will be on the board of the company , and will be doing voluntary marketing and promotional work for the company while residing in USA.
Thank you for your time.
Your H-1b must be sponsored by a US company. H-1b terms require you to gainfully work only for that employer. As long as your US tax returns do not show any other source of income and show you have been working fulltime for your sponsoring employer, you should be fine.
They do not bother with foreign wages or what you do with your free time ( as long as it inot a second job).

Your 485 was moved from NSC to TSC, and so was mine, and I got FP recently. My EAd/AP was filed in NSC on Aug 10, got receipt notice, but no other news yet. where did you file your EAD/AP, is it in NSC? If so did you get your EAD?
My 485 was sent to TSC and then Fwd to VSC and came back to TSC. It never went to NSC
EAD was issued from VSC, AP query for PP copies was issued from VSC as well

Hi All,
We took an infopass appointment at the Local USCIS office to get a temporary proof of our permanent residency status. Can anyone suggest us what documents to show ?
As I understand we need to show passport , driver's license,485 approval notice, police report and I-90 application.
Is there anything else that we need to show?

After joining new employer again filed PERM in JUN/JUL 07 got audited, rejected and than filed for apeal. In the mean time got my OLD I-140 approved. Now its more than 10 month after my PERM appeal so waiting to withdraw this PERM to file a new one.
Question: I am aware i can retain the old priority date but my lawyer says first i need to get my PERM approved which i totally agree, than he says i need to get I-140 approved and than he will file for portability of date. I told him that you can file for I-140 and port the date together he says NO. Please clarify?

I am not sure I understand. My wife resides in Mumbai. She had her h1 stamped there some time back around 5 years. That h1 she used and is gone now. Now she applied for h1 in fresh qupta since she was out of us for more than one year. Right now so where should we go for stamping. Shes in us with me on h4. Can we go to canada?
Yes, you can go to canada for visa stamping. Note however that the canadian US consulate might require "security clearance" and then your wife will be stuck in canada, typically for months. Although chances are slim, such events do happen, and therefore it is advisable to go to the home country (non-home country consulates issue 221(g) more frequently) or at least to a place where your wife can afford to stay for months.

My understanding of the Neufled memo does not invalidate the question asked by Saarissimo. The memo refers to a person being the sole owner of a company. If the LLC in question is owned by X,Y and they then offer Saarissimo 33% of the company to own, then Saarissimo's employment in the LLC should fall under employer-employee relationship unless it is specifically written in the operating agreement that the company will cease to operate if Saarissimo is terminated from employment.
I know people on H1B sponsored by ABC LLC, and owning upto 2% of ABC. They have never had any problems, and are well on their way towards Green Card processing. Unfortunately, I do not know if the considerations change dramatically if ownership is 33% instead of 2%.

I am working on Company A in H1B status my GC sponsored Company B for Future Employment and they applied 140 its Approved suddenly dates became current I applied AOS with 140 Approved in July afte that we got our EADS APs FPs all etc. my sponsored employer asked to join then I joined in Company B on EAD status
what ever the payment terms which I discussed within a month he changed his words according to law he only pay salary but I am working on percentage basis I liitle bit fed up with those issues
I stayed with them only one month and one more month
when can I Use AC21 for safe side

I agree with raj. IV goals are clearly mentioned on the homepage and it appears its activities so far are consistent with its stated objectives. As a self funded group with limited resources, the fronts on which the battle can be fought have to be selected. Currently, the struggle is to get legal, high skilled immigrants on temporary working visas a more defined and timely path to their long term career and life goals. There will always be issues which the core group will hopefully consider and act on in the future.

I got 485 Card production order and welcome notice email yesterday . I am assuming that means I got PR . my company has filed for H1 -B extension last week itself . what will happen to that extension , do we need to revoke/withdraw that petition ?

Who are the guys making more than 250K? Why are they stuck in retrogression?
I am assuming that if you are salaried employee and making more than 250K, you should be at executive level qualified for EB1 visa - which is current for all countries.
These folks are most likely doctors...doctors salaries are in that range.

We are interested in knowing the source of this rule!
If you pay the new fee for EAD or AP, there is no mention that you won't have to pay again for EAD or AP. You don't have to pay for EAD and/or AP if you had paid new fee for I-485.
I'm renewing my wife's and my EAD through my attorney. We'll pay only this time for the new fee and then on will be free. Same is with AP. Pay once under the new fee, and then you can renew it for free. The only fee you'll pay is your attorney's, which you don't have to do. You can efile by yourself like many other people have done.
