BTW my PD was Oct 2004 and my RD was July12th 2007, ND was August 15t 2007. I am sure this months NSC report will show a good advancement in their processing date.

My lawyer asked for separate checks for each application.. FP is always added to I-485 fees.. But since they issued EAD receipt for you and spouse, that means definitely 2 485s... Guess you need to wait for the receipts to get the missing receipt # or you can call USCIS...

We never had to tell the IO to do anything. They knew what to do.
But if some IO tries to keep a copy of the original after the initial time - I would tell them that it is the only original that you have left.
But we never had that problem to deal with.
Thanks do I need to specifically tell the immigration officer at port of entry to make a copy?

The only time they keep an original is the first time. After that they never keep the original but return it to you when you return.
My wife and I only had 2 AP originals when we applied last year and made 2 trips outside the US. So relax and dont worry. You're fine.

Is there something we can do to avoid this PIMS delay.......
I have been trying to ask the attorney and even the free chat on IV but no one is giving a clear solution on how to avoid pims delay. :mad:

but in this case the H1b stamp on my passport is still valid and not expired.
i am entering on nov 11th. stamp expires on december 1. why i am worried is just because the stamp is still of old employer whereas 797 is of new employer.

In Michigan if you want to get in-state fees, then one has to be GC holder. My wife has put her studies at bay until GC comes. Trying to focus on our 2 children in the meantime.....with the hope that at least they will do well in the future......

Hi, My wife and I received three emails each regarding 485 approval ("notice mailed welcoming new permanent resident," "CPO ordered," and "approval notice sent") on 9/8. My wife received her "welcome notice" and the card itself within a few days. But I have not received either yet.
1. I know the CPO email says wait 30 days, but given that my wife has already received hers, I suspect that mine was either sent to an incorrect address or there's some other hold up. Anyone else in a similar situation? Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?
2. I guess I can wait 30 days and then apply for a replacement card with an I-90 (for which the current processing time is 3.5 months). How can I travel internationally in the interim? If anyone is aware, please let me know; I am trying to have a plan in place, in case an emergency arises.

First - she files the F-2 and H-4 applications, not you. She can only request a change to H-4 status after you activate your H-1B, if it approved as a notify as explained above. If the employer is filing as an automatic change of status, she should request the H-4 change with you. She will not be eligible for F-2 status after your F-1 ends.

I am working in Company A and currently on OPT. My 2008 H1visa has been approved. It will be effective on Oct.1st. Now I got a much better job offer from company B, and need to join the new company in July. How can I transfer my H1 visa? Thanks a lot in advance. Is it a bad idea to ask for help from the indian government, there are ministers like "Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs - Vayalar Ravi" who is supposed to look into issues we are having here, even if contacting them doesn't help, it atleast will not hurt us. i think there are few good ministers in there who can understand our problems, they may not help us with $$ but may be able to help us with their lobbying groups.
i think "Ronen Sen - India's ambassador to USA" is another person who will be sympathetic to our cause.

I am July 23rd concurent Filer (Texas service Center), day before yesterday received FP notice but no other reciepts. wrote email to Lawyer to update.

thank you roseball.. I already booked an infopass appointment for Monday. If the additional review is done by DHS, will contacting the Ombudsman's office help in anyway ? anybody have experience in resolving the "additional review" , please update.
