Cam somebody please explain what ETF's are with a simple example; web definitions on it are too technical for me. Thanks
ETFs (simple definition) are a hybrid of mutual funds and stocks - they are similar to mutual funds in that they represent a basket of securities (for example stocks or bonds) but they trade like stocks (i.e. they can be bought and sold throughout the day and their quoted price changes as they are traded throughout the trading day .. mutual funds on the other hand are priced only once at the end of the trading day).
ETFs charge a management fee which tends to be lower than mutual fund fees.
For example, check out VWO (Vanguard Emerging Markets ETF)
Or FXI (China large-cap stocks ETF)

There are some restrictions. After 10 years, if you opt for the one time payment of your SS benefits, then you can never enter US again.

My Attorney has sent in more than 2 inquiries with DOL and each time we get the same boilerplate reply saying you are in queue and we are processing it. This is an automated reply as few of my friends even got the same reply with no change except case number.
Also as for as i know there is no time limit as such as 4 months to wait before contacting DOL.
When I called the attorney she try to look up the audit reply status and read that sentence containing 4 months wait time to me from the website. I do not know how far it is true but this is what she said.

I am glad to see the responses, and am sure that there are more to come. I decided to create a tracker of people who have posted their dates here or confirmed that they are waiting for the audit response.

For EB3 (All countries) to see some light, the changes made recently to the allocation of excess visa, spill over and also to over subscribed countries need to be revisited. Not sure, what triggered USCIS / DOS to revise the interpretation after so many years. Did IV had any role on this, or not .. do not know.. I ask this as based on all forum updates, IV appears to have little success in the Admin Fix area. I have posted this so many times in various threads and did not get an answer, may be there is none. If the interpretation was somewhat like before, EB2 /3 both would have got the spillover... and all would have benefited in the order of PD. Now with the new interpretation. all excess / spillover visa just goes only to 2 countries (EB2 India / China). Looking at the latest numbers based on USCIS website, China has far less cases compared in India based on the cut-off date, which is good for India (EB2), as they now consume a big chunk of the numbers and rest are left out for now. I am not sure, what is opinion on this from folks from ROW (EB3) on this. Does IV has any comment on this... Having said this, I have nothing against Eb2 or EB2 India specific, and not getting into the argument whether or not EB2 need to given much preference.. The stocks I suggested are for Shorts as well as Longs. You have to watch your "CHARTS" .
I did make some mo on TARG These plays were only for that day I do not recommend playing them even one day after that
I run scans nightly as well as in the Pre Hours for day trading .

Simly these guys want to derail the whole discussion either it is EB3 push or visa capture or any kind of fruitful discussion.
I know it is difficult to stop creating and screening ids, atleast can you delete some unrelated postings and make sure that there is some healthy discussion continues and people like me wont stop visiting IV.

It looks like November 2005, Jan 2006 and Feb 2006 priority dates are somehow lumped together. Of course mine is December and far be it from being even considered :)

It all depends on what country you are a citizen of. If you are a passport holder of a country like Canada,Autralia or most european countries, then you may not see much benefit in holding a US passport when travelling. But people from certain other countries, have to go through the hassle of obtaining visas prior to international travel, vacations etc. Sometimes we even have to get transit visas for countries that we pass through on our way to the final destinations. And these visas cost money. But if you hold a US passport/citizen of the US, then they do not make you jump through all those hoops. You board the plane and you get a visitors visa once you land in almost all countries (there are exceptions, India and Australia for example). But there it is. That is one of the priviledges of having a US passport.

I and manish flew monday morning sept 17th on a short notice to attend 11:30AM appointment and then again at 3:30 PM with nagaraj.
We had 2 more appointments on 18th with NH senators.
All the meetings were great and one them exceeded 30 minute schedule to 50 minutes.
It was great to meet all the members like aman, jay, paskal, kanika, meenal, nagaraj, pappu, gopal etc.
Paskal: Where is my beer?
Gopal: "Don't shoot the messenger" in the situation room.
jay: Speech pointing fingure to capitol hill behind him. "We are here on offence".
Mike: Step1 to step 5 entertainment
These are some, but not all, of the memorable things in DC.
I really had to mention pappu seperately.
He is a dedicated person to this cause and needs special mention. I really enjoyed his company in the bus on our return journey to NH. We shooted all possible questions and got convincing answers.
Thanks again for the wonderful experience.

Look my friend, there is no logic like RD vs PD. If there were I would have had my green card before most here even filed their 485s. My 485 is pending for over 4 yrs now.
I have had people with PDs after me, RDs after me, all sorts approved and I am waiting.
This is a game of luck and chance.
The USCIS process is chaotic and disorganised in the way they do things. If you are lucky you get your approval earlier, if you are not, your application languishes in some salt mine in Utah or wherever else NSC stores their pending applications.
I think I saw this in one of the ombudsman's reports to congress. A certain percentage of files are misplaced/lost every year. I have a sinking feeling - mine could be one of these. If so, I will have to wait until someone at USCIS stumbles on it :-). I agree completely with you and there is really no way to predict how USCIS processes GC's. USCIS incompetence is boundless.

I appreciate you for keeping this civilized as well. We all know that all the talk about recapture and immigration reform has not taken us anywhere.We wont be here arguing about this issue, if we dont have any inherent bias towards our well-being. (I dont even have to be explicit about that) I dont want to discuss being fair and look for any sympathy towards EB3I. All I want to know who is adversely affected. Just by looking at the bulletin, it gives us a clear picture. If USCIS would have interpreted all along this way and never changed it, I would not be even discussing here because its mute. I am not a proponent of changing the way it was before so that it backlogs EB2 as well. I just want to put this effort up there so that we can come into some consensus of rationalizing the spill over to get benefit to all backlogged groups rather than pouring in to one group. How would this affect long term ? I dont know. But I know for sure, there will be some relief to some people for the time being and over the long term it could help more. See the difference between our argument is, I just want some from you, but you want it all. I am in this game for about 9 years with 8 EADs. By not having a GC never restricted me from doing what ever I wanted. But I think its about time, some one has to do something about it. I think this is the right opportunity for some people. If I look from your side, its taking something from you. But all I am looking is the right way to get USCIS intrepret and get some relief in the process.

You have pointed me that I am arguing to keep spill over as it is (in favour of EB2) because that will help me. I would argue the same that when you say immediate help for EB3 I feel that is because that will help your case. Tell me how does it help Eb3 with PD 2004 and further. Rather it would be in their interest to cross port to EB2 since they directly become current rather than wait for spill over to reach their PD which is good 3-4 years away. So my argument is there are three interest groups here
1) EB2
2) Eb3 prior to 2004
3) Eb3 2004 onwards.
