Thank god. My first MWSF (been saving up for it), with the primary reason being: Steve Jobs.
To listen a keynote about his retirement?

It wasn't a skeevy guy, not even remotely.
She was in the right restroom, there is a good option, for her to use the loo appropriate to her gender, female.
I know it wasn't a skeevy guy. What I also know is that transgendered people have to deal with all sorts of problems, including what restroom to use. A transgendered woman going into a women's room should not be treated like a skeevy guy going into a restroom, but it happens. I've seen it happen. I pointed out the comparison to spark a conversation, not to say it's right, but to say the comparison is often made. Either there is a failure of education and tolerance, or some accomodation needst to be made, or maybe security should be better, or something...
Oh, and there are too many people who make unfounded assumptions. This story is proof of that.
Out of curiosity, do you actually know what gender she was? Was she post-op? Pre-op? Does it matter? I think a woman sitting in a stall might freak out by someone peeing upright next to them.
You would think that; however one could argue that black Americans don't repay the goodwill done towards their causes by standing up for other minorities. In fact, you could say that they do the opposite and use other minorities as scape goats for their problems. You could say that but then everyone would just call you a racist.
Yes, they might.
I usually like your posts on here but this one is really coming off as transphobic and frankly makes me really sad to read.
I really did try to avoid making it sound that way, because that was not my intention. I apologize to anyone who was offended by how I worded that post.

Just by chance (I didn't realize it was OS X's birthday today), last night I wrote a blog post: '10 reasons OS X is better than Windows' (http://www.adrianoconnor.net/2011/03/10-reasons-why-mac-os-x-is-better-than-windows/). The timing seems spookily appropriate.
You must have had a hard time picking only the top 10 out of 10,000,000 :D

Logic Pro 7 has yet to be cracked, so Apple has people who know how to do copyright protection. I suspect Leopard will employ very strong TPM integration compared to Tiger.

Hm.
These seem like something that everyone here says can't be real, "no way Apple would design something like that," the "perspective is all off" ... and then end up being real after all.
Remember the screenshots of the Fat Nano ad file in Photoshop?

Got some new running shoes at the Nike Factory Store. These will make a huge difference from my vans.
http://i1116.photobucket.com/albums/k575/julian4444/IMG_20110413_225203.jpg
Also got some Polo Ralph Lauren all white canvas landers. I walked into journeys planning to get some vans and wanted their version of docksiders. Unfortunately they only had smaller sizes. So these seemed good enough.

Also a pack of 5pairs of no show socks for the landers.

Whoever spends their time looking at adverts is a lost cause and has no life. Seriously I think this is the most ridiculous thing apple has come up with.
Dear macrumors newbie and all the others who simply don't get this,
I can only assume none of you have either a creative or entrepreneurial gene in your bodies. Even if all you hope to be is moderately successful at communicating, an appreciation of the work of ad agencies would be useful.
I designed my first ad when I was 19. It was a poster for a charity disco. We made money. Unconsciously I had distilled all the information I needed from all the ads I'd seen up to that point, and made something that worked. It was never as easy ever again.
If you ever want to be really successful and maybe even wealthy, then this app is vital. All the current iAds in one place - no searching needed. For goodness sake use your imaginations, please.

it dont have mms
you cant send messages to more then one at a time.
it is not possible to download contacts from sim
its more difficult to call, set up contacts and so on compare to sony/nokia
i have all of these on my iphone, albeit not out of the box....but if your serious about your iphone, you should be jailbreaking it anyway, the amount of apps that will make your phone YOURS is relentless and modding is the way to go.
not sure why you think its more difficult to call, set up contacts etc, strange comment....

Overall, disappointing.
From the MacRumors live update (thanks guys), there was waaaaaay too much dull stuff about movies /snore Agreed.
Someone needs to ask Steve (the nouveau movie and entertainment mogul) the same thing he once asked John Sculley:
"Do you want to spend the rest of your life selling cartoons or do you want to change the world?"

I'm glad to see this DRM stuff getting hacked. I hate the DRM and would buy way more music, movies, and TV Shows from iTunes if there was no DRM in the files.
You didn't read the article, did you? This time Jon's working on adding iPod compatible DRM to files not originally from Apple.

Quoting from the Apple website:
"Shopping event is available only at the online Apple Store on November 24, from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. PST and at Apple retail stores."
So sale continues for a few more hours.

GOP Takes Unprecedented 10-Point Lead on Generic Ballot (http://www.gallup.com/poll/142718/GOP-Unprecedented-Lead-Generic-Ballot.aspx)
Republicans also maintain wide gap in enthusiasm about voting
PRINCETON, NJ -- Republicans lead by 51% to 41% among registered voters in Gallup weekly tracking of 2010 congressional voting preferences. The 10-percentage-point lead is the GOP's largest so far this year and is its largest in Gallup's history of tracking the midterm generic ballot for Congress.

No one, no one would take a poll that's seven-months out-of-date and try and pass it off as an accurate representation of current public opinion.

I find no mention of this anywhere, even did a google search.
Care for a link?
It's a joke mate. I even wrote "Confirmed!" on it - that is always the give-away.

Why should this be an issue? I have two qualms:
1. What business is it if a pediatrician asks if there are guns in the home? A child is more likely to get hit by a car, should the doctor be asking if their home is situated on a street? This reeks of a doctor playing politics.
2. Why should it be a crime for the doctor to ask??? That is just as stupid! If you have a problem with your doctor railing politics, get a new doctor.

Wow, this thread is crazy OT.
Windows 8. Hopefully it has an even bigger system tray for all those little crapware programs that run in windows.
Mac has its share of crapware programs.

It's VHS vs. BETAMAX all over again. Hopefully this time, the superior technology will prevail.
You know, I was going to suggest that, but I figured it would be over the heads of most of the folks in this forum. Needless to say, we're both grandpa's (grandma's) around here.
Similar characterstics to that format war. Betamax (Blu-Ray) has superior image quality, but VHS (HD DVD) is cheaper to produce. Ultimately, production costs may be the deciding factor in this war. Backward compatibility with (SD) DVD is a nice added bonus, if the manufacturers put decent upconverters into the boxes. What's up with Sony and it's effing production line anyway? Delays, delays, delays. They're full of it these days.
On the way in to work this morning, I was thinking that HD DVD is about to win this war. If PS3 tanks, Blu-Ray may be lost forever.
