Guys, there are 245 countries worldwide and many choices to choose from the other 244. Many people will just as easily move to Canada others will fit where it suits them best which could be home. Often Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Germany are mentioned as countries which take in high skilled professionals. Sometimes forgotten are countries such as Ireland which is having an IT boom or the Middle East eg. Quatar, Saudia Arabia, UAE etc where the benefits include perks such as a tax free salary comparable or better than a US salary, two round trip tickets per year for the employee and their family to the employee's home country, entertainment, house and vehicle allowance, in short your greatest expense in some of these countries is basic sustenance needs. Lesser known but unmentioned countries having an IT boom are in Africa and many new frontiers where outsourcing is taking root. This bill will only help accelerate and encourage the growth of industry in these countries. It is now inevitable thanks to the misguided bill. In short don't despair, there are many options available out there...
See a sample of what perks are available in UAE, Quatar, Saudia Arabia:

BUSINESS intelligence software specialist SAS is enjoying its most successful year in Africa as companies realise the need to analyse the mountains of information that they generate.
Within the next few years business intelligence should move from being a “nice to have” niche application to an essential part of the business, says Bill Hoggarth, MD of its South African subsidiary.
“This is the strongest year we have ever had and I see it as the start of a three-to-five-year curve. Our goal is to see business intelligence take its place as a key pillar of a company’s information technology strategy alongside the operating applications. Business intelligence is coming out of its niche to attract boardroom attention.”
SAS has just ended its third financial quarter 12% ahead of its figures for the same period last year, says its international president Art Cooke, and the subsidiary in SA is outstripping that. It now has 100 staff in SA and a turnover of R150m, with ambitions to grow that substantially.

Kenya Plans to Create 30,000 Outsourcing Jobs in Varsities
Kenya plans to position itself as one of the world's leading outsourcing hubs for companies in North America and Europe looking to cut costs in their business processes.
Dr Bitange, who was head-hunted from the University of Nairobi, said in the coming six months, the Government hopes to engage some 10,000 students in an incubator venture modelled on a successful one by universities in north west Britain, called CallNorthWest and hosted by University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

KenCall opened in late 2004, taking orders for U.S. late-night TV commercials. Its Kenyan operators sold Yellow Page ads, security alarms and mortgages. But it has since grown its business to include data-entry for one of the premier Wall Street credit-rating firms and handling service calls for global banks and insurance companies. For an economy dependent on coffee, safaris and flowers, this is a real change of pace.

Murthy's website actually had a section called "Benefits of Retrogression" a few weeks ago.
Like, a delay in 485 filing gives more time to the bachelor's to go out to home country and look for a suitable match and get married before filing 485 etc.
Needless to say, whatever such trivial benefits(if that's what you call it) result from retrogression, all those benefits can be available by simply delaying the filing of 485.
However, that's your typical lawyer's view. "Benefits of retrogression". Its like saying "Benefits of Starvation and famines". Although famines cause starvation and shortage of food, the benefit is that no one gains too much weight and those who seek to lose weight can finally succeed since, there isnt any food around. Such benefits is currently available only in famine struck regions where food is really in short supply. There is no obesity problem - A HUGE ADVANTAGE ... LIKE BENEFITS OF RETROGRESSION - for people who are running out of food to eat.
Thanks.
LogicLife is simply awesome. Your counter arguments have been exceptional. Why dont you become an Immigration Attorney and fight for all poor souls like us.

Hi all:
I have finished entering details in the efiled I-131 application. but on completion I am getting the following notes
---------------------------------
Note: There are still required fields not completed on the following forms:
I-131 -Primary FIler
Note:There are still suggested fields not completed on the following forms:
I-131 - Primary filer
I-131 - Secondary filer
--------------------------
i think the suggested fields notes are coming because of the middle initial(we both do not have middle initial)
But I DO NOT understand why the notes regarding required fields are coming for the primary filer. Any ideas? ( what required fields I would have left out.. forms were very similar for both primary filer and secondary filer)
Thanks a lot

By doing the above, we will permanently be bracketed under Illegal Immigrants category and then what not.
I think, we should have a different approach. The reason, iam here is because i liked the approach we are taking.
We are eductaed and we need to handle things following the protocol which the law makers understand. Pressure tactics will not work and will be seen as nonsense by many.
We need to handle the things right way, even though it takes time. Getting desperate is, when we start loosing.
We need to look at Immigration issue from lawmakers point of view and the American citizens reservations about this whole imigration and their insecurities.
Far more important task for us legal immigrants is, we need to show them that we are not job grabbers but job creaters.
We also need to prove that we do not pose any security threat to them or USA.
Also, we need to rope in Indian government rather than NRI/GC holders in USA.
When Indian companies back home start investing in USA, thatz when things/momentum will build up here.
Looks like we have a long battle to fight. We need to appreciate that we are under a banner.

That's true. Only citizens of USA can have political views and can express their views. H1B and H4 holders expressing views might not be legal.
As I understand H1B and H4 holders can not influence politics. Hope that USCIS is not monitoring this thread.
That is not true. We can support any candidate, endorse or even contribute to their campaign.

dhruv8890, what visa are you on? In-state, out-of-state eligibility for tuition payment would depend on that and/or the fact that your family has been residing there for a while.
However, you should definitely contact the International Student Services at your university and ask them your question. Good luck!

After reading so much into AC21 i'm still missing something.
Please consider this scenario.
I'm in good terms with the original GC sponsoring employer and have an approved I140. I want to switch to an entirely diff job(or may be even unemployed) using EAD. I can produce an offer letter (at the time of adjudication or for RFE) saying this company (or if they go out of business a diff company) will hire me in the same occupation once the GC is approved. In that case will AC21 come into play? So do i need to worry about doing a same/similar occupation while on EAD if i have a future job offer?
I remember reading unitednation doing something similar.
TIA
The only issue is, once you get GC, you need to go back to old employer & work for them at that salary for 6 months. Is this doable?? if yes, then go ahead..forget AC21, use EAD for any job.

You should be fine. You at least got chance to correct by RFE we all who were affected a couple of years ago got denials directly. With MTR we got back on track again then.
Just send your AC 21 and EVL and other relevent docs as required and you will be fine.
All the best.

I have no idea what your point is. There are people with different skill sets, different education backgrounds and different years of experience. It is basically what the position is for, sometimes I get letters saying I am overqualified for a position, which is very true. Bottom line is this, we are not qualified to judge what is crappy and what is not. In my team, I have guys who just have high school degrees who excel better in my team and listens to me than extremely educated guys and gets more work done, than people who have multiple degrees and higher qualification like I do. Being a manager, I do look for qualification to an extent, but thats just a very miniscule part of the whole picture. The rest is experience, attitude and being personable. I spend 4 years doing my engineering and 2 years doing Masters in Comp science, I still came out of college and studied in the job and had to go to institutes like NIIT to actually study what I am working on. So I think everybody is eligible for Greencard as long as you lawfully have come in to the country, period. Some take more time, some take less time, but I think we have all earned it. peace out.

I posted this a few weeks back that South Korea is getting a big EB2 quota (most of them current) over 7% limit, way more than China.
Country EB1 EB2 EB3
India 5,327 14,819 3,576
China 5,605 6,965 1,985
S Korea 1,923 7,125 4,727
Philippines 310 2,057 5,625
UK 3,472 2,043 909
Canada 2,368 3,404 1,207
Mexico 1,457 1,348 4,021
All 36,593 70,138 42,848
I have seen many South Korean GC approvals in last 4 months in EB2 Category.
Are we doing something for South Korea to be officially retrogressed for EB2 ?
a man was selling crabs. He had two buckets of them. On one he had a lid, on the other he did not. Someone asked him why. He said this one has crabs from ROW, if I dont put a lid they will climb up and escape. The other one has crabs from India, no need for a lid because even if one tries to climb out, the others cant bear it and pull him back.
