in my humble opinion, we will never find justice and fairness here. UK has already moved in that direction as well. at the rate it is going, every year the GC queue gets longer by _seven_ years.

sadly, the main instrument in our exploitation have been other desis. people at work use my work to become CTOs. i get 500 buck a _year_ increase. when i complain they say "indians can't talk" so they can't rise. what crap. I've lived all over the world and no one ever said i could not talk. they just want to come up with ways to take credit of your work.
tell me, would they ever let a new mexican (even if he is a genius), work in anything except washing dishes or a pizza shop?
Since we cannot vote, and don't have enough money to lobby (bribe) the politicians, we're orphans here. here money talks, BS walks.

The form firearm buyers fill out is a federal form that should be standard across all states. Perhaps your recollection is from before Feb 2002 when nonimmigrants' firearm ownership was not restricted.
A correction for my earlier post - the pamphlet is from ATF, not ICE. http://www.nafr.org/PDF/p5300_18.pdf
Regarding FBI Background checks for firearm transactions, they are required by law to give a decision in 7 days, or the transaction is automatically approved. There is a very efficient appeals process for wrongful denials that takes only a couple of weeks. There is also a toll-free hotline to call FBI and talk to an officer.
Wish they had all these features and the 7-day timeframe for immigration background checks....

Hi, me and my wife we both r on H1b. My wife works with a solution & service LLC.say company A, now the owner is ready to start a new company, say B,with my wife as partner. Lately i see a lot of new members coming up in the forum, with lots of questions about their problems that they are facing. And lots of good hearted IV members also give their diligent answers for them. One hand I am glad IV is getting new members, on the other hand i am wondering where were these members all these days.

Therefore I urge, every new member to volunteer in the IV activities and be an active member of IV and be a participating member, so that IV helps you and you help IV. If your case is older than 12 months from the date of judgement you can have your case expunged from public records. As of today your's is a public record and is on every entry point in the country. As per immigration laws the IO has the authority to turn you back if you have been found guilty. The best for you is to have the expungement of your case and no one will have the access to your case except FBI.. This may take anywhere 2-3 months from the date you file for expungement..
Avoid travelling till your expungement is done..to be considered for expungement there should not be any other sace pending against you.
Good Luck.. talk to your attorney and file for it even if you are not travelling it will be good for you for future employment etc. also..

Till 2007 that was how it was being interpretted and then suddenly DOS realised it should be by category and not by country of chargebility.
The earlier Eb1 ROW>Eb2 ROW>Eb3 ROW spillover is called vertical spillover
The current since 2008 spillover Eb1>Eb2>Eb3 regardless of country is called horizontal spillover.
However see in Horizontal spill over Eb2 India backlog takes of the numbers (14k in 2008)
In vertical spill over Eb3 India backlog takes the numbers(17k in 2007)
So either method wont help Eb3 ROW. Its a double whammy.

Even my papers were filed on 2nd july before revision of VB. My questions:
Since VB is revised, my application would be rejected and sent back to Attorney's office. But when? How much time does it take USICS to send these application back?
What if it goes beyond October bulletin? If by chance (which I doubt), my dates become current then how would I be able to file my papers again, since medical reports are still with USICS, they had not returned it yet?
Any ideas?
