I'm in AZ and my husband and I had to also take the QuantiFERON test at the county health center. I don't know if this is AZ law, but most people I know in the Phoenix area who did their medical in the last month had to get the QuantiFERON test if the skin test was positive.
My skin test was positive and chest x-ray was normal. My doctor referred me to county health for the blood test which unfortunately turned up positive and he prescribed preventive therapy for 6-9 months! :( I started taking the medication a week back and I'm hoping he'll give me the all clear by January!

We have sent our 485, EAD & AP applications to TSC on 9-Aug. We got all 3 receipts today. My wife also got all the receipts. 3-Oct is mentioned as the receipt date.

As per new rule -- Name check is no longer an issue for I-485s which are pending for more than 180 days.
Is USCIS still holding cases because of namechecks (even for cases which are pending for more than 180 days)? Anybody has more info on this?
Maybe those cases are still pending due to other problems such as PD is not current, name check, etc?

I think we all are Highly Skilled people here so it should not be difficult to understand this poll.

something like that...
in the current format, even though my pd is 2003 mar, i can put in before 2006 as well

Nice to read about Madam Zoe Lofgren. She really tried for us. She too needs ideas..

call to all software engineers: please allocate and store only ONE digit when you take the year and store it in some database in your applicaton. Dont read in 2008, or even 08. Just "8" will do. That way sometime next year we'll realize that after 2009, we are going to roll over into year "0"... all applications will crash. things will stop working, ATMs will go berserk. The only way to fix this Y2010 campaign would be to increase the EB quota and H1 quotas so all the new engineers can come in (& old ones hang around long enough) to put in 3 more digits into all the applications. :D

I totally agree with your point. I was not expecting 0% from a IV Core Member. It is a discouraging response ! I hope "Pappu" will respond with a more realistic number.

Here's why it is impossible to predict. Even if they give us the correct numbers at any point in time, as soon as they move the dates, say by one month, an undetermined number of people with priority dates in that month are eligible to apply. When they do apply, all previous demand data and careful calculations are suddenly invalid. The presumed effect would be slower movement than calculations would suggest, but since no one knows the actual numbers, not even USCIS, then it is impossible to predict.

My wife today was able to talk to a USCIS phone representative. They said our case is all set, but they are currently processing July 2 RD. They said Our RD is July 30.
Our Application reached USCIS on July 2 and the USCIS Status says our Application was received on July 30. I thiought by this means, my RD will be July 2 and ND will be July 30.
If the above is true, then it throws off the RD order of processing out of the window. They are processing by ND.
Our case is in NSC

A lot of you that have received RFEs recently seem to be late June/early July 485 filers at NSC, I wonder if that means that NSC is processing/preadjudicating 485 applications that were received in the June/early July 2007 timeframe.

lets not be that cynical about India. Going by the suffering we have been through for this GC process and all the money we have spent on lawyers,DOL,USCIS and the lost income from being stuck - this is far worse than bribing. At least with India-style bribing you are gauranteed to get your job done, here all the "premium processing" money goes down a back hole with nill results.
I am sure officials would have forgotton all the laws if
1. Parents had heavily bribed the officials.
And/or
2. They had links with some influencial authority in the immigration dept or
government.

Just wanted to update the latest development. I got the same "Initial Interview" Notice today. The date and place are the same as my wife's (April 20th) with a 15 minute difference.

I guess living in california changes ur perspective on affordable housing. when u have shacks going for a million $ for sure there is significant risk involved even at six figure income levels...but in regular markets in the south - texas, florida, etc home prices in the 2003-2005 were still less than 300k. those that took the plunge have seen great growth.
I have to agree with this. In my area you won't find any decent house less than $800k. My landlord was planning to convert our apartment into condo with $300k. I am ready to buy it any time - I don't even consider it "buying a house". It's a one bedroom apartment for $300k !!! While my friend is thinking should he buy a house in Texas for $250k or wait for GC.
